While we certainly love to explore our community, we have a lot of fun in our own backyard as well. Over memorial day weekend, we had fantastic weather here in Ann Arbor. The kiddos found lots of creatures to play with in the backyard. My daughter found a caterpillar. They became fast friends and said a very dramatic goodbye after keeping him for observation for a couple of days. She is really hoping he comes back to visit after turning into a moth. My son found the tiniest ant to call his new bff. Then once it got dark, they had fun playing with sparklers for the first time. My son ran around the backyard yelling “fire power!” You can see the pure joy on his face. My daughter tends to be more cautious. She enjoyed the sparklers, but held on very carefully. 🙂 Here is a peak at our evening backyard fun.
