A Trip to the Zoo {Ann Arbor Child Portrait Photographer}
The Toledo Zoo re-opened their aquarium this weekend, and the kids and I made it to their grand opening. I always debate on whether I should bring the “big” camera because it really feels like I am taking care of a third child. In this case, I am so glad I decided to bring it. I knew it would be a great opportunity to capture some fun, spontaneous moments; but it would also give me chance to hone my natural light photography skills. For my photog friends, most of the indoor images were taken with an ISO of 3200 or higher.
This is the only image I got inside the renovated aquarium. The crowds were pretty intense, and I wanted to focus on keeping track of my first two babies. 🙂 Here is a peak at our little day trip.
The ubiquitous shot.
They had free face painting! The kids were soooooo excited. Without hesitation, my son wanted to have a tiger face. He was so serious during the “painting”.
This is a little smile he gave when the woman held up the mirror for him to see. He LOVED it. He really fought me at bath time when it was time to wash it off.
My daughter couldn’t wait to have unicorn painted on her face.
There were so many fun activities for the kids to do to help celebrate the opening. There were crafts, story time, and even a preview of Toledo’s Ballet Theatre’s production of The Little Mermaid. The children were invited on the stage to try a little dance. Both kiddos joined in the fun.
After enjoying the opening activities, we headed to the “Nature’s Neighborhood” for some more indoor playtime. It was all of 16 degrees afterall. 😮
