In the midst of last fall’s busy season, I set aside a day to capture my own kiddos. My son had just turned 3 and my daughter was going to be 5 in a month. I take unposed images of my kids on almost a daily basis, but I also like to take more traditional portraits of them once or twice a year. By traditional I mean, I dress them well for the session and wait for the pretty light. In this case, the first images were taken in our backyard on an overcast day. Not exactly the pretty light I was hoping for, but it made taking photos during mid day a lot easier. The next day was sunny, so we waited for the golden hour and went to one of my favorite Ann Arbor parks that had several gorgeous maple trees with lots of rich color left. I think it was worth the extra effort.
We had a great time throwing leaves and taking a nature walk. I even handed the camera to the hubs to take a photo of me with the kids. Here is a peak at our time together last fall.
